I was previously employed by a large Australian owned company as a web applications developer where I was responsible for the development of the company's internal Intranet and public facing brand sites. During my time with that company I developed a number of applications including a work-flow engine, content management system and B2B site. Prior to this I worked for 7 years in Japan at a small venture capital funded startup developing applications for mobile devices and set top boxes.

以前は、オーストラリアの大手企業で社内イントラネット向けのWEBアプリケーション開発やコーポレートWEBサイトの開発業務をしていました。内容としては、ワークフローシステムやCMSなどの開発などです。この企業で働く前は、携帯電話やセットトップボックス向けアプリケーションを開発する日本のベンチャー企業で7年間働いていました。

Currently I am responsible for designing, developing and maintaining applications for mobile devices, primarily our flagship video streaming application, "movie4U". When not developing I am actively researching new products and technologies from overseas that we can potentially use to improve our own applications here in Japan. Also as time allows I assist my colleagues endeavours to learn English by providing short language exchange sessions.

現在は、主に携帯向け動画配信システム(movie4U）のJAVAアプリケーションの開発を手がけています。また、自社製品や日本市場向けに展開できるような海外の製品や技術の調査も積極的に行っています。
あと、みんなの英語スキルと自分自身の日本語スキルの向上のために、時間の許す限り英語でメンバーとコミュニケーション取ったり、時には英会話レッスンをしています。

The mobile market is developing so rapidly that keeping up with the pace is next to impossible, but that is a challenge I enjoy. Constantly refreshing my skills to keep up with the capabilities of new devices, and technologies ensures that I never become lazy and that my skills as a software engineer never get out of date.I'm also very lucky to work with a friendly talented team of individuals all of whom are experts in their chosen field. Everyone here is constantly upgrading their skills and are willing to share their knowledge with the team so the team is constantly reaching for new heights.Software engineers have an obligation to themselves and their employers to constantly upgrade their skills, and in my current role at Acoustic I have the opportunity to do exactly that.
